| Allison Hammer Social Studies - Grade 7 | Presenting With Glogster - Students created research projects which they presented to the class. Students did research and wrote a paper on their topic. The final piece to the project was the oral/visual presentation of which they had the choice of using Glogster, PowerPoint or creating a paperposter. Some students included an Animoto video in their Glog as well. |

| Barbara Ferri Science - Grade 8 | Determining Geologic Events - Students requested pictures from the International Space Station. They will be using Google Apps to collaborate on a project in which they create a script to describe the geologic events that formed the physical features these pictures. They will then use VoiceThread to do an audio recording of their narrative and will invite classmates to provide feedback. | EarthKam.swf |
| Bonnie Klein Spanish - Grade 8 | Mexican Artists - Students created a presentation using images, words andmusic to show the connection between art and Mexico's history. Students chose a Mexican artist to study and created a multimedia presentation that included art images, a summary of research notes on the artist, a brief analysis of the artwork, a map, and music. | Bradd Smithson Science - Grade 7 | Solving Punnett Square Problems with Screencasts - Students used the recording feature in SMART tools to make a screencast. They created their own genetics problems and showed the viewer how to go about the solution. | Candy Banks Art - Grade 7 | Pop Art - Students used Animoto to create a simple video short that explained how a particular artist's work from the 60's came under the heading, "Pop Art." Students had to use images, text, and music as part of their video description. |

| Charlie Puopolo Science - Grade 8 | Weathering VoiceThread - This project was done during our unit on weathering. Students were assigned one of three images. The images were associated with various types of chemical and mechanical weathering and provide multiple opportunities to challenge students on various levels. Students used the recording feature in SMART tools to create a screencast explaining the various features of weathering that were represented in their image. | Denise Breakall English - Grade 6 | Visualizing Motif in The Magician's Nephew - Students use Glogster to create a visual representation of a motif they have been tracking in the novel we are reading, The Magician's Nephew by C.S. Lewis. | Joe Casey Social Studies - Grade 8 | Renaissance Glogs- Students researched an influential figure during the Renaissance time period in history and answered the question, "What impact did this person have on the Humanism/and or Science movement of that era?" Using Glogster, studentscreated an online poster that included written information, visuals, and voice to display their research and to answer the guiding question. | |
| Karen Burstein Math - Grade 7 | Using Excel for Graphing- Students used Excel to create a graphical representation (plot) of the coordinates they outlined for their cartoon. Using a formula column, they then multiplied those coordinates by a scale factor to create an enlarged graph of their cartoon. | |
| Lauren Noferi Science - Grade 6 | Interactive Periodic Table of Elements - Students researched a particular element and created a web site about their element using Google Sites. Students included text, images, video/audio and links to other web sites. | Libbey Beinert Hunnewell Physical Education - Grade 7 | Animoto on a Roll- Students used video cameras and still shot cameras to document the skills of inline skating. After recording these skills, students uploaded the information into Animoto and wrote descriptions next to the images describing how to do the skill that was represented. This will act as a virtual study guide which we will load on my PE web site for all students to access. | Lisa Fontaine-Rainen English Enrichment - Grades 6-8 | Student Led Blog- Students experienced sharing thinking and language with a public audience via WordPress. | Marie Mallott Social Studies - Grade 6 | Regions of Africa Animoto Project - Students created Animoto projects based on two sets of criteria, which were regions of Africa and themes of geography. Students uploaded their Animoto project into Voicethread in order to receive feedback from the members of their "theme group" prior to making corrections and creating a final Animoto draft. They uploaded their finished Animoto projects into Moodle according to the regions of Africa. The entire class was required to watch the Animoto projects and leave comments. | |
| Rachel LeBlanc Specialized Reading - Grade 8 | Vocabulary Glogster- Students used Glogster to create a poster for one othe new vocabulary words they were learning. This project helped students to gain a deeper knowledge of each of these words. Students providing synonyms, antonyms, examples, non-examples, sentences, pictures, and derivations of each word. | Terri Mills Spanish - Grade 8 | Spanish Pharmacy - Students used Animoto to create an advertisement for a Spanish pharmacy, which emphasized the grammar of the lesson - positive and negative commands. They uploaded their Animoto to Glogster where they created a multi- media poster as another advertisement for this pharmacy. They made audio recordings in Spanish of the text used in their Animoto. | Wendy Tanahashi-Works French - Grade 7 | French Exchange - Students wrote a paragraph introducing themselves and 2 friends. The focus of this assignment was to practice verbs and various forms of adjectives. Students organized their intoduction with images and music in Animoto. They uploaded their Animoto to a class VoiceThread. We invited a French class in France to do an exchange by with us via VoiceThread and/or email. | Wendy Tanahashi-Works Spanish - Grade 8 | Barcelona Videos - Students researched a particular topic on Barcelona. They saved their writing as a Microsoft Word document and some students found and saved MP3 music files. They used Animoto to create a visual introduction for their Barcelona topic, which included music, images and limited text.
